COMPLETE Visa Guide 2024 - Avoid stress when entering Vietnam

This is a How To guide for applying for a tourist visa, a.k.a an E-Visa, to travel into Vietnam. There are a lot of issues that can come up related to the application process or passport problems that can lead to difficulties when coming into the country. In this video I try to answer some common questions and explain the process for anyone who might be a little confused about how to apply. There is also new rules that will go into effect on August 15, 2023. - 90 day E-visa

This is the best information I have after completing monthly visa runs for about 6 months now. Please ask any additional questions in the comments and correct me if I am wrong.

Very good & informative video. So I can download a photo of myself & my passport from my photo gallery to the application. I do plan on having a professional mug shot taken of myself and taking a picture of my passport page using my phone or iPad.

Thanks Travis good info - might I add the process may be a bit arbitrary as my wife and I submitted the e-visa with identical residency info ie: hotel name plus city (Danang) my application was approved immediately but my wife was denied requesting additional information so we added the exact full address of hotel and resubmitted. Very interesting process to say the least - probably reviewed and determined by different individuals in immigration department.

Thank you bud, That is a lot time-saving and great tips on applying VISA for me. Even I'm Vietnamese but i visited only once when i was little. so technically, this is first time i'm apply by my own as foreigner to Vietnamese Gov lol.

I just got my 3-month tourist visa approved. It cost it me $51.54, multi-entry. I already visited Vietnam 1.5 years ago on a 30 day visa. Not sure if that played a role, but the approval for the 3 month visa was super easy. All done online. Same website as the 30 day visa, and as mentioned in this video. I applied on a Sunday online, got a message on Tuesday that my name did not match on the passport, so I corrected my middle name (there is no middle name - you have to know if it's part of Given name or Surname ), and it was fully approved by Thursday without further questions.

This is a lot easier than when I visited in 2019. They had had to mail a paper visa.

Thanks a lot.Very good information with minute details especially on the point of entry/ exit and on the validity of the visa approval, duration of stay which ends on the validity date mentioned on the e Visa unlike other countries where the duration of stay is counted from the date of entry as long as the tourist enters before the validity date of visa.I have lost 5 days out of 30 days due to arriving late.😞
Was in a dilemma whether a new application has to be made after leaving Vietnam or can be done while the current visa is active and while still remaining in Vietnam- you have answered it and now going to try my luck by applying a 90 days one.

I submitted my Visa application on 25/06 at 09:00am and am still awaiting a response. It is still in “processing”. It’s currently 28/06 14:15pm.

I fly out on the 5th and am stressing!

If you are in Saigon, you don't go to Laos for your visa run, but to Cambodia at Moc Bai border .
