Maintenance planner here for a mine site, typically day like you said is to do everything. Going from ordering parts to checking inventory to contacting Vendors to scheduling for next week. You said work maintenance planner is suppose to have 2 weeks worth of work, you mean PM’s ? You can have notifications but depending on your production needs of your business jobs will be switched around. So in reality like I explained to my boss you can’t have an advanced ready schedule because you don’t what equipment will fail next week. Things will help switch Around. Basically what I mean by this is that as along as the maintenance Planner has the the parts and is scheduling his work weekly there is no reason to say they aren’t spending enough time “ planning “ the job requires you to run around and be a problem solver spending all day “ planning “ or like you tried to explain in this video will only be a waste of time.
