Jeep Comanche - 4wd System Overhaul: Azzy Linkage, Front Driveshaft, ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴛɪᴍᴇ Indicator

This is a 1987 Jeep Comanche SporTruck. It has the AMC 4.0L Engine, Peugeot BA 10/5 5 Speed Manual Transmission, NP231 Transfer Case, Dana 35 Rear Axle and Dana 30 Front Axle. It is the Long Wheelbase configuration with a 7 foot bed. I bought it with 115,000 miles, and in this video series, I planned to restore this truck to the best of my ability, but it's sort of become a matter of keeping it alive.

Don't worry bois, I'm not going anywhere - it just gets so damn cold here I can't do much on the Jeeps. I will try to keep making videos, but they'll probably be of lower quality and focus on slightly different things than repairs.

Come Spring, Operation Lettuce shall commence stage II. For those unaware, I'm gonna Manual Swap my XJ, and make perhaps the first in depth video documentation of that process. By saying it here on the internet I will have effectively carved a contract in stone, so I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

Hey, just found your channel! I noticed you painted some of the interior parts on your truck. I found a perfect match for that blue as my truck has the same interior. Rustoleum nantucket blue is an almost exact match i did my ashtray and glovebox lock button and you cant even tell.

Such a great video. I have an 89 MJ and have the opposite issue. After I purchased last year, I used the 4wd for first time and now the full time light stays on. I checked and it it not in 4wd but light will not turn off. Tried the driving in reverse trick that I saw on various forums but no good. Occasionally while in the freeway at 65 mph, it might temporarily turn off. Thanks for your detailed diagram, may help me figure it out!

That CAD system is a complex and fragile mess. The 4wd in my 87 MJ didn't work for the longest time until I found one of the lines popped out of a T fitting deep in the engine bay.
