My Siamaese cat remembered that she hated my sister even though it had been years since they last saw each other. 🤣🤣

Many years ago my cat Miles was lost for 9 months while I was away for college. My mom had moved while I was away. I found him living with a cat colony up the road. When I called him he came running. He remembered me!Miles lived to the age of 13.

My late cat remembered my voice after I went overseas to attend university. Whenever I would call home to chat to my parents (it was well before smart phones and video calls), my cat would hear my voice and prick up her ears to listen with great interest. She even remembered the tricks that I taught her years ago, and upon seeing me for the first time after years apart, proceeded to trot right up to me, plunk herself down on the floor, and roll over, just like we used to practice together at home.

Years ago we shared a house with a friend and his cat Riley. Our friend was able to purchase a apartment but wasn't allowed to take Riley, so we inherited him. Years later whenever the friend visited, even after not seeing us for several years, Riley would immediately come and sit at his feet and gaze up at him waiting to be fed. He certainly remembered his former owner

Squeak shocked us with her memory.

We had to leave her behind in Europe with a friend when we were Covid evacuated back home to North America.
Two and a half years later, the pandemic eased enough for us to go back to Europe and get her.
Once back home, she remembered it all. She cried to be let in the crawl space like she used to. She figured out how to get up to our upper window late at night although the system of ramps I had built for her had collapsed from two winters of heavy snow. She must have first climbed a tree and made her way along the roof of the room below our window. Yes cats can figure out new climbing routes. But she had to have remembered there was a means to be let in by that upper window.

Cats definitely can remember things, like what time is breakfast and dinner. And they remember their people even though it's been a long time. ❤️😸🐾

I mean, cats can do tricks if they want to. I stopped doing tricks with my cat for a few months because I was worried about stuff, but as soon as the treats came back out, she knew her tricks!

My cat was originally found as a stray by my cousin, and lived with her for her first few years of life. Cousin got a dog cat didn’t like, cat came to live with me. 10+ years later, my cousin visits occasionally. Cat always acts really affectionate toward her. Has even slept on her lap - something she only ever does with me!

My cat seems to have a pretty good memory. Good receptive language as well, I’d say. Sometimes I’m shocked by what he understands and remembers. He’s a bit less sharp than he used to be now that he’s older, but he’s still very smart. I’m excited to learn more about cats’ memories!

Ha! There’s no way they forget something as soon as it happens! They learn and memorize our behavior, my cat only misbehaves when she wants to get my attention. Plus, she knows when I’m sad, she’ll come and sit on my lap, knead and purr to make me happy. She remembers all that.

Oh, they remember! My cat frequently returns to the last place (physical location) where we last played or where she received a special treat.

My cat comes away with me in my camper van. He can remember his favourite people at different locations we go, he can remember particular routes - one of his fondest places we go up a steep hill to get to, he knows that hill and will anticipate seeing his friends. He remembers his way around straight away at places we hadn’t been for over 2 years because of lockdowns, would go find the people he liked to hang out with again, and he knows his way home back to the van even if I’m not parked up in the exact same spot he learns the new spot but will also go sit where we were the times before too.

My traumatised angel cat Ebony (who sadly passed away in 2018) definately remembered the traumas she experienced, before she came to me. She used to have nightmares where she would cry out in the night out of sheer terror and anxiety, then upon waking up she would get so scared and stressed she would have an asthma attack in bed.

An Abyssinian type cat that I know has lived with his owner in a holiday trailer, moving from one movie filming location to another for many years. He freely comes and goes through the roof and so far seems to always remember where home is, even though some stays are longer, some shorter. Sometimes just for a weekend camping trip in the truck.

My cat definitely remembers certain things. If I bend down and reach out towards her, she'll back up. She was a stray who was picked up by the police and taken to a shelter. I think she's got some trauma from that and we've been working on it.

Cat knows the time .. they can't read a clock ⏰ but they always waits for me to come home from work at the door ..

My cat can do tricks and even if I forget to practice them for a time she still does them without fail

my cat will chase the red dot into my open backpack, then he comes back later and looks into the backpack to see if the red dot is there
