To be fair, Overeem might have been able to hang on for 2 seconds to a clear decision win. Sure ref stopped him potentially getting hit a few more times, but he wasn’t out yet, and lost his win bonus and snapped his 2 fight win streak

I actually agree with this one. He won that entire fight and gets knocked down at the very end, stood right back up and they stopped it anyway.

That was really good sportsmanship that he didn’t keep raining down punches. He should be grateful that he gets to keep some brain cells🤷🏻‍♂️

You have to look at it in context. With four seconds left, as the ref, you have to give the guy his chance. If there was plenty of time, sure. But Overeem deserved the chance here.

I think the ref stopped the fight because that punch busted overeem’s lip and was literally hanging.That’s one of the most horrible cuts I’ve ever seen😨😱

If that cage isnt there he faceplants/falls flatt on his back. The fall woke him up as it was and he was on rubber legs complaining. The stoppage was fine. I like Overreem but he was always complaining about stoppages and losses.

I’ve known guys who walk off because it puts pressure on the ref to stop the fight. Like seriously some guys always walk off because it puts pressure on the ref they have to make a spilt second decision.
