Bon Scott VS! Brian Johnson - AC/DC Tribute (revised)

This is the original VS video I made, but just like my newer ones, I must stress that this is a competition of opinion for fun and out of love for the band. I love both of these singers and while I in some cases prefer one to the other in this series, I think it's important to listen to each other's side and enjoy the legacy that these artists have created. That being said I LOVE seeing the comments under these videos and talking about who's the favorite of each commenter and why. It's always such a joy to read them, even the more negative ones. This series is a celebration of music and I love making it. Sorry I've been gone for a couple years, but it's time to bring this back in full force.

Not sure exactly how long this video has been down for, but it's been a long time. In 2014, I was just a kid messing around with an idea I had seen done once and wanted to do better. Now I've released albums that anyone can stream on any given platform. I've become an adult (in age only), and gone through a lot of crap since this video was originally made, but I still love it and I wanted to improve it rather than just rerelease it. Of course, Sony Vegas default font and basic editing aren't that impressive, but I am proud of these videos and am glad they get the community of the band's fans talking (whichever band it may be depending on the video).

They really have very similar voices. It is very difficult, after the death of a vocalist with a unique voice, to find someone similar. RIP Bon, respect Brian.

As an aussie growing up in the seventies Bon is and always will be #1. The iconic songs from the Bon era are the best. However, thank god Brian joined and the band lived on to record more iconic songs. They’re are still the best band. I’m just thankful they are still around and making great rock albums when so many other great bands from that 70s aren’t. Don’t compare, just enjoy.

Respect to Brian, he came into an already established band and had big boots to fill. The band could have been a massive flop but he never tried to be a Bon replica and did his own thing. That said, Bon will always be AC/DC to me

The reason that ACDC could continue on without missing a beat after Scott's death was because they found a voice that pretty much matched Scott's! to the Idle listener like myself growing up in the 70's and 80's I didn't even know the lead singer changed....hell, I've heard single lead singers voices change more over time than the difference between Scott and Johnson!

I will admit that when I was younger I never really took interests in bands and their members, so I really never knew Bon Scott was the original singer for a lot of my favorite AC/DC songs. But one thing I did notice is that when I watched Brian Johnson sing, his singing didn't carry the same way as some of the songs on my dads cassettes and when I would watch them on TV. I used to think it was because they changed things for live performances. This video showed me that it wasn't just my crazy little head lol. So for me Bon Scott does it for the vocals and Brian Johnson will always be the face my mind puts into focus for AC/DC. Thanks for the reupload!!!

They are both perfect for AC/DC! Imagine if a live duet could exist with both of them. I cant think of any other bands right now whose both original and replacement are perfect, but I guess that is all opinion. AC/DC rules hard rock.

AC/DC was a great rock band with Scott... continued to be a great band with Brian! Both are very good, each in their own style... what matters is that the band continued to rock at the top!
