This song encourages people to use snuff (Fodya) in spiritual ways. It doesn't matter where it originated. We cook snuff in a special way which helps to reduce the harmful effects of the tobacco. It is also hand ground and prepared with respect to our prayers, traditions and ancestors. Spiritual snuff can be used in prayers and cleanses, it can bring good dreams and visions, and fight away bad spirits.
Every culture has its ways to reach God. Snuff is a Zimbabwean way of praying to God through our ancestors, and we are proud of our culture.
The song welcomes good ancestral spirits who are coming to the family. It promotes people who are possessed with an ancestral spirit, and encourages others to respect these people.
