THIS video is MORE REALISTIC for an Average Joe ! I get annoyed by DIY vids where the dude has a warehouse full of expensive equipment, a forge, band saws, grinders, belt sanders, welding supplies... Great specimen of knife

It's by no means a "new" video on how to make a knife out of an old file, but THE FACT YOU DID IT WITHOUT ANY POWERTOOLS makes this totally awesome!!!

Beautiful and badass knife!
I love your handmade tools and the Old school manual drill. I also enjoy the fact that you kept the sound of the work being made, not some generic music for the entire video.
Keep up the good work! 👏👏

This is by far the best channel I've found for practical shop applications and engineering. So many other channels will show you the same things, but they do it with their $1500 Festool power tools, or their $10, 000 lathes, with their $20, 000 filtration systems inside of their $150, 000 shops. Mazay shows that you can make all of those things on your own at a fraction of the cost and be able to produce the same results with some determination and hard work.

I have watched a lot of knife making videos here on YouTube. This is the first time I have felt that I could apply the same tools and skills as this guy, and make my own knife. Much applause and gratitude my friend. God Speed. ❤

I have a LOT of respect for this guy. Going at it old school and the resulting knife is amazing! I've made knives with no power tools, so I can relate. He wanted it, applied incredible effort, and made it happen!!! My hats of to ya!!!

Man, I always admire the post-grid collapse feel of these builds. Someone either gotta really want to do this, or is legit just learning the basics of knife making. Always great to watch.

I've watched a lot of knife making videos on and off over the years, but I've been put off by the expense and need for equipment.
This has been the first video I've seen that seems attainable for the beginner who can't shell out for what's required.
(This is the first video I've seen from this creator).
Thank you - you've given me hope that I can enjoy knife making on a budget.

Many, many years ago this was our project in high school metal shop. We started with the annealing process, shaping, prepping for handle, re-hardening, etc.

That's what I call dedication. I've worked with all kinds of blades. Different types of steel. And this has to be one of the hardest. And time consuming. Great work
