Knife making - Make a knife With an angle grinder and basic hand tools.
Knife making doesn't require a lot of fancy or expensive tools.
I made this knife with nothing but an angle grinder a drill (not necessary ) and some basic hand tools.

( I bought mine from Home Depot for $59)

Nice job man, and zero knife technique snobbery. I like that. 😀

One of the best videos I seen dealing with the basics. I am just getting started with knife making and think your instructions were spot on and easy to follow. Great job, thanks!

Just wanted to say. Thank you .
You got me started in this hobby.
I watched this video last year and since then I have bought and or made tools to have a nice start in making knives . I tried to forge a spike over the winter but my hand crank blower from 1902, One of the bearings came loose right when a spike was just getting hot enough to start moving the steel, the 400 champion blower stopped turning..

Nicely done! That mirror finish does do a couple things for the blade... For one, it slides through whatever you're cutting with less resistance making it cut MUCH better! Second is RUST! Rust only likes to form in pits in the metal, the mirror polish has very few if any pits so it's very rust resistant.

Thank you Alex, after watching quite a few " other " vlogs, I was still having misgivings as to how simple this could be . You have proven to me that it's only as hard as you make it on your self .

Alex, your videos are just amazing. You're a good teacher, a good communicator, and a good smith.

As always, excellent video. I appreciate the fact that you used just the grinder to make the knife because I don't have the money right now to buy the more expensive tools at this point. But I do have a paint can forge, grinder, drill press, and canola oil. Keep making the videos on the layman level. Great work.

That is a super badass build. Love the final look and the performance is superb. Also a big fan of convex grinds for toughness. 👍

Wow, that was impressive! Man what a shine on that blade, plus held a razor edge after a pounding workout. Thanks for sharing this.
