5.8 meter medium weight aluminium centre console with 130hp Yamaha. Went from 3 blade stainless Solas to a 4 blade aluminium equivalent. Lost 2 mile/hr but gains everywhere else. Way better trolling, better climbing of waves and slow going authority. Beautiful.

Thank you for the great info. I bought a stainless prop for my Suzuki 50 on my 16 Lowe. The prop chatters at low RPM or trolling. I returned that stainless prop. Could it be the brand or my Motor can’t handle a stainless prop?

I have an 18ft center console mako with a 115 mercury. Im running a 21 pitch prop and hole shot is horrible. Im only turning 4000 rpm full throttle. Would it be smart to go down to a 15 pitch prop or would that be too low? Doing the math, it seems that a 15 pitch would get my rpms up and help my hole shot.

Does a 4 blade stainless prop give you more speed than a 3 blade stainless prop with the same pitch? Or is the 3 blade generally faster?
