The best way to protect your technology is to not sell them in the first place

I don't think UAE need f35, they can buy those 4.5 gen Rafael and 2 s400 that's enough for them...

I think the anchor missed a key point here: It's about US treating its allies with respect, sure China has transactional relationships with its "Friends" but US is also not far behind China in this respect. Did US consulted its partners before pulling out of Afghanistan, we all saw how US behaved with India after signing of QUAD, it blocked supply of key raw materials for covid vaccine, it marched in India's territorial water and then bragged about it on Twitter.

Point is, US has full right to protect its sensitive technology from falling in Chinese hand, but there is a fine line which US must not cross while doing this. And US should also treat its allies with respect which apparently it isn't doing in case of UAE.

US needs to understand that psychology of king is different from a leader of democracy.

Well the UAE has it's rights to do business with who it wants. But doesn't the US as well?!? Make it make sense

UAE has already signed a deal with France for Rafales which should be sufficient for its potential enemy Iran. Operational cost of F-35 is too heavy for any country.

Antagonizing Iran is actually the key for selling OVERPRICED US military hardware in the region.

Maybe France had to sell them fighters to balance their budget after America stole the French submarine contract with Australia?

Well... 🇦🇪 has already inked a mega deal with 🇫🇷 for 80 F4 Rafales for USD 18 billion. Like 🇮🇳 took too much time in negotiating the deal with 🇫🇷 Dassault, the same way Pentagon also took too much time with their conditions.
F-35 is the most advance fighter flight as of today and the fear of it's stealth technology getting compromised is understandable from a Pentagon point of view. More or less the tender will be open but for a lesser aircrafts.

When I make a deal with someone, we share sweets.
When America makes deals, you "have to" buy it's weapons. And here I was thinking America was altruistic and was pursuing peace in the world.

I laughed when she said China has friends with benefits 😂. That was funny to me

Same scenario with the Philippines, a US ally with Mutual Defense Treaty. There's always a condition before allowing to buy weapons. The Philippines also want to buy helicopters (Bell Huey) from Canada for its armed forces but denied. Instead, the PH bought Black Hawk choppers from Poland. Don't push away your allies US (a country of hypocrisy)

UAE accepted Huawei. That's the biggest security threat any country can have.

This guarantees ISRAEL's consolidation of the F35

Israel must not have competitors in the Middle East, concerning F35

I would admire UAE if it shows backbone & decide to think for itself, not allow the west to dictate upon its soveriegnity. UAE can have its own choices.😇😄😇

It's time to choose your allies wisely. Those who are friendly with both sides are not worthy of trust.
