Congrats Mulcair, your hay-making skills are now on par with Conservatives. Way to finally hit rock bottom and drag the NDP down with you. Honorable mentions to Brosseau for her starring performance as a pro soccer player taking a dive.
Poor Jack must be rolling in his grave.

Maybe the Canadian media can now move on to something of substance. No one is buying this shit.

This whole deal makes Canadian politics look like the clown show it is to the entire world.
The actions, the outrage, all of it. It's embarrassing.

And nobody on that panel comments about the NPD blocking the Whip in the first place and wasting the time of the entire House???

Anyone else feel relief that Mulcair didn't become Prime Minister after seeing this?

He's a teacher trying to control the children. It's a hard job lol.

...and the official apology for the Komagata Maru Incident? Forgotten, ignored even by this illustrious panel. Peter Mansbridge should've at least had the presence of mind to mention that this BS overshadowed the long-awaited apology for a tragedy in Canadian history.

This is such a non-incident. Regardless of your politics, it's obvious that Trudeau was trying to take charge and cut through needless bureaucracy with an accidental ill result. It's further obvious that no one was even remotely injured, mentally scarred, or made to feel the HoC is unsafe. The hyperbolic responses calling this, "assault" or saying that "drunk drivers don't intend to cause crashes" are absolutely absurd.

NDP; you're going to have to work hard if you want my vote again in the future.

Wtf why is this even a big issue to be debated. It's not like nobody has accidentally hurt another person before.

I'm sorry, but is this panel talking about the same incidence we're all thinking about? They are very out of touch with how the public is reacting to this. Most Canadians consider this incident a ridiculous overreaction by NDP and Conservatives. Trudeau is gaining sympathy from even the most old school Conservatives. If anything, this incident will solidify third place status of the NDP for decades to come.

I believe they are blowing this way out of proportions. Although Prime Minister, Trudeau is still human and we can all get angry sometimes.

From an outside perspective, it looks like he was trying to help the Tory (which is admirable). If any true colours are revealed it's the opposition calling a bump "physical molestation" or "assault". If that's the case, I've been assaulted many times shuffling along movie theatre seats or on the bus. It seems, as usual, Elizabeth May is the only one who doesn't deign to the level of such partisan BS.

A. Ruth Ellen Brosseau just cemented what she will be remembered for. A whinny delicate flower.
B. Peter Mansbridge should be embarrassed for even allowing this to be "news" and a discussion panel? lol
C. The only thing I don't like about Trudeau in all this is his apology. He was in the right.

Do you know what normal people do when they accidentally bump you? They say oups and the other says it's no big deal.

this is so stupid as the "conservative whip" could have walked around the crowd easily by going left instead of trying to push through

oh my god...give it up !!! the guy is only human and after all he went to help his friend... he's actually doing the right thing. !

This is all non-sense. This is why we shouldn't raise our kids to grow up in sheltered bubbles. This is what zero-tolerance, political correctness has done to our society.
The PM did the right thing by walking over and trying to deescalate the situation. There was no intent to cause harm whatsoever. His apologies seem a bit excessive.

what an overblown thing to happen. It was clear he was trying to get a guy away from these guys who were clearly blocking the mp. So what if he elboobed another in the process. That was an accident, obviously.

There is a soldier somewhere getting his amputated arm sown up watching this and saying to himself "I thought I had it bad"

Women are strong when they need to be... but they are also frail when they need to be... All these talks about women empowerment and women being strong... and yet she gets completely incapacitated and emotionally distraught from someone bumping into her... This whole thing is not only a joke, but an insult to anyone who's ever been truly abused. If she truly thought he had done something genuinely wrong, she should have showed character and stood up for herself right then and there and speak up. Not whine about it to others and then run away to cry like a baby. This is 2016. Women are equal to men.

So, an entire City evacuated, thousands of people left homeless and this is what is being debated.
