Shampoo dries out your hair. Conditioner puts back the nutrients. A lot of people co-wash because shampoo can be damaging

sweet vid! thanks for mentioning over-maintenance, and the importance of drying! I've lost the tips of several dreads because of crochet and too much bleaching when they were babies. Also, if anyone has trouble getting their hair dry fast enough, get a soft bonnet dryer! I knocked 7 hours off of my dry time.

I love using conditioner. It softens and protects the hair. But I dilute mean, just like with shampoo. Full strength conditioner WILL untangle your locs. I know from experience. My locs started to detangle, but they're also younger than yours, so the results may vary.

My mistake was that I did too big sections and I dont really like my locs.... I am planning on getting dread extensions.... Should I get extensions?

Also, conditioner does not have to be a bottle of conditioner. It can be a concoction of oils and stuff or a serum. You can buy those serums or buy the oils yourself and mix them depending on what works for you because everyone's dreads are different and we all have different textures and stuff. But if a bottle of conditioner works for you, then it works just make sure its clear so you don't get build up. You will get build up regardless but if the stuff is clear you get less.

Can you do twist and rip method and also locking gel to make them look neater and hold together? Btw straight wavy hair right now but naturally my hairs curly just damaged from straightening.
