Bansko (Bulgarian: Банско [ˈbansko]) is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains at an elevation of 1200m above sea level. It is a popular ski resort.

Bulgaria's Best Ski Resort is among Daily Mirror's top ten winter destinations in the world. Pirin's jewel is on the seventh position in the ranking, leaving behind emblematic resorts such as Vail and Aspen in the Rocky Mountains, the Swiss Zermatt and Bormio in the Alps.

The town is situated 6 km from the town of Razlog and 160 km from the capital of Sofia. Bansko lies on the two banks of the Glazne river at the foot of the Pirin mountain, right bellow the highest part of it. The Pirin mountain is an Alpine type mountain with its highest peak - Vihren (2914 m). The town of Bansko is located 925 m above the sea level whereas its ski area - at an altitude of 2000 - 2600 m.

Bansko ski resort is attractive in all seasons. It provides excellent ski and snowboard facilities, as well as a unique history and architecture of an old and new part of the town. Thanks to these features Bansko is a favorite ski and snowboard destination.

During the recent years a multimillion Euros investment in a brand new skiing area has been made by Yulen, the company that runs the skiing area of Bansko. Numerous new luxury hotels and facilities in the area of the Gondola lift station have been constructed.

В Банско има 20 ски писти с обща дължина около 60 км. Шест от тях са сини, за средно напреднали, 11 са червените, за напреднали, от които най-дълга е писта Бъндерица (4860 м.). Черните писти са две – писта 9 – Томба и писта 9А – Ръкав на Томба. Има и по едно трасе за ски бягане и биатлон с дължина 12 км.

Писти в Банско: Балканиада, Бъндерица, Коларски, Плато1и2, Преход към Тодорка, Ръкав на Томба, Ски път 1 и 2, Стара писта, Стражите, Тодорк, Томба, Църна могила, Чалин Валог 1 и 2, Шилигарник 1 и 2 и Юлин.

Лифтове в Банско:

Банско разполага с удобни и безопасни лифтове, от които гостите на града могат да се възползват през цялата година. Най-атрактивният и предпочитан лифт в курорта е обновеният кабинков лифт – Банско, тип Гондола. Други лифтове са – 6 седалкови Тодорка и Коларски; 4 седалкови Бъндерица 1 и 2, Шилигарник, Чалин Валог, Плато и Моста; 2 седалков Църна могила; Влек тип котва Стара котва и Детска котва; Влек Чалин и Детски влек Паница Б.
