If light bent around you.. it wouldn't hit your eyes... you'd be blind.... but i mean you'd be invisible so theres that

If a cloaking device bends light around an object, can an object inside a cloaking device see?

0:53 That's oddly specific, Hank.

I am posting this because I know that some people aren't the smartest... and this is YouTube after all..

The way Hank is able to be partially invisible in this video, is because he is using a Green Screen. He's simply holding up a large peice of green cloth similar to the screen behind him.

Always preferred the Predator cloaking device to Harry Potter's system.

Hank should be invisible throughout the video and not only when he wears the cloak, since he's Green. Get it? :-P

Pff, no, Harry's cloak wasn't a demiguise pelt. Those eventually lose their ability to keep you invisible while his didn't, which is what made it special.

Nerd credibility rating at 0/10.

First of all, if Hank did read the Harry Potter series he'd know that there is no mention of a demiguys anywhere in any of the books and the cloak of invisibility that Harry uses in the books is part of Death's invisibility cloak that was given to the third and youngest and wisest brother of the Peverell ( I might have spelled that wrong) family

Actually only conventional invisibility cloaks are woven from Demiguis fur, in these kinds the invisibility wears off eventually. Harry's cloak of invisibility was a deathy hollow, and never stopped functioning. Through this we are to assume it was created out of some other material.

all subsequent invisibility cloaks after harry's are made of the fur, and they loose their potency overtime, unlike harry's water one.

You should actually talk more about the problems/effects upon usage:
for example when you bend light or other electromagnetic waves around a person or object in order for it to be invisible they would only receive a very VERY tiny amount of these themselves as they are all bend around them (in case of near perfect functioning) meaning they had basically no vision of their surroundings.
Ways to prevent that would be to only bend certain spectra while others would still pass so e.g. infrared cameras could still detect the user.
Another cool side effect could be a near perfect shielding against all kinds of waves like radar, radio, UV, radiation X-ray and so on.
There will be lots of other uses beside these which I cannot think of right now, mostly because my understanding on these themes is really basic as I learn physics only for fun

My understanding is that there are three "types" of invisibility cloak: there are the cheap invisibility cloaks that are just enchanted fabric, then there are the higher quality ones made from Demiguise hair, but are still prone to tears, and then there's Harry's, the best cloak ever because it is a Hallow and made by Death so it will never fail.

Hank is not substantial because I can see right through him. Nyuk, nyuk.

the trick to invisibility would be either to reflect light perfectly or to move light around the object, usually done by projectors and cameras, but they only work one way and at certain angles.

Demiguise fur is not in Harry Potter's cloak. Get it right people.

I actually heard of a recent development in cloaking tech, where they made a cloth that absorbs light on one side and made it output a photon on the opposite side, thus making the object appear invisible, basically working similar to the cloak used in Ghost in the Shell.

I am proud to say that I also immediately recognized Demiguise. Harry Potter for the win.

like, have a suit, where the suit has lots and lots of cameras that are small, and lots and lots of leds or whatever that will replay the image behind, that camera. Like, the little cameras on your back will display on the front of the suit. Such goes for the sides tops and bottoms. BAM. where is my noble peace prize. Or whatever.

on the mirage effect, the reason light does that is not because the warmer air is reflecting the light, the warmer (less dense) air provides and easier path for the light to travel than the cooler (denser) air up high. kinda like moving through a crowded place, if you see a place with less people you tend to go to that area.
