How fast can this gearbox spin? What is the gear ratio? (each gear is 3:1) What improvements did I make?

One day he'll spin a gear so fast it fractures space and time

You should get a motor with a speed controller so you can speed it up slower because the acceleration is what sheered the gear off
If it’s not accelerating then the only resistance is the friction

In future videos, and if you have one, can you record some videos with a thermal camera? Would be curious to see if friction is really heating up any parts or not.

Fun fact: videos like these inspired me to start playing around with gear ratios in DT at school recently

One these days, you'll go too fast and we're going to get a video called "I blew up my house... WITH A GEARBOX!" :P

What song is playing during the angle grinding montage?

Slow-mo disc grinder sparks set to low-fi chill beats = The video we didn't know we needed.

4:06 I hope you can make another video to show how practical making gravity based gen, basically put weight and string and let it slowly drop let say on 3 meters height, depending on motor generator/battery size would really great to know how much it can store energy in the lithium battery. try on small scale like 20w dc generator and 12v 10ah lithium battery setup.

What are the logistics of using the gravity fed generator? I have a basic understanding of alternators and and the gear reductions involved but would this be a viable way of producing electricity? Would a long enough pendulum and a large enough gear reduction with an alternator at the end produce electricity? Thanks for any answers.

I think Ikea must love your channel because of how many lack tables you buy from them for these videos. They should be sponsoring you!

The idea of a gravity generator is definitely interesting, and imagine it could use that generated power to lift the weight up! Definitely one of the more efficient concepts for unique generators I've seen

Why cant we use gear ratios to maximize the collection of gravitational energy?

now think, for the single microsecond that the gearbox survives when you rotate the first gear. What rpm will we reach?

That music like transported me to another universe. A little overkill for a video like this.

I'd like to buy one of these! I think it will work on a project I'm building.
