This is such a lesson in thoughtful writing and revision. I love all the parts, but the more streamlined, finished Things Happen is a benefit to all three of the songs that eventually came from this version (one of which, Someone Else's Cafe, still managed to be a sprawling epic, but in a much more effective way).

"I think I'll see Becky" is a pretty subtle change though. I wonder if he thought "Lily" just rolled off the tongue better, or if he just couldn't help how he felt. ;-)
