If you really think about it, in this day and age (2022), Testament is pretty much a supergroup at this point. Chuck's voice doesn't seem to age, Eric & Alex are a beyond accomplished power writing/playing duo and then there's these two dudes on bass and drums you might have heard of Steve DiGiorgio and Gene Hoglan.

What a ridiculously talented lineup. Don't get me wrong, there are many, many other extraordinary bands out there with their own fantastic lineups but these guys have been together on and off for a long time. And some of Testament's alumni aren't too shabby either like that Dave Lombardo guy. He's, you know... okay, I guess. And there are others too.

It's nutty the firepower Testament packs.

Can a band get any better? Testament sound so tight live it's amazing. They are, truly, one of the giants of thrash. Maybe not the most well known or the most records sold, but that hardly matters. They are in a league of their own.

I met Chuck in 1995. After the show was over, I was sobering up at the club when this big dude, with tats walked up next to me at the t-shirt stand. "Hey Chuck, sign my ticket stub." "No problem, " he said. You guys kicked ass then and still do today. Thanks.

This band has aged well soundwise. It's nice when a classic band has a singer who can still hold his own like this or DRI. Some singers just don't have the heaviness anymore..
