More than 20,000 Yellowknife residents have been ordered out of the city over a growing fire near the capital of the Northwest Territories.

Global's Farah Nasser speaks with Retired Royal Canadian Air Force Gen. Tom Lawson about the complexity and challenges of organizing an evacuation operation with such a large group of people.

Despite the complications surrounding the ongoing evacuations, Gen. Lawson said Canadian organizations are slowly adapting to collaborating with one another in emergency situations like these following historic wildfire battles like the 2016 blazes in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

ask him who told the fire chief to set the fires; ask him how fires start in NWT areas where theres NO lightning, NO thunderstorms, NO roads, NO population to drive roads and drop smokes out of the car, etc. and ask him what he knows about dewy weppons etc...
