I probably won't need to get a new phone for years. I love this phone. Already had it for 2 years and still going strong.

Even if I had the money, and was given the choice to purchase either the iPhone 6/6 Plus, or the Moto G 2014

I'm going with the Moto G 2014

I'm watching this in 2020 after I bought my moto g more than 5 yrs ago. Am I alone here? Anyone still using this phone?

*I received my Moto G 2014 yesterday morning, and in the 24 hours I've been using it, here are my first impressions*:

The size is perfect - not too big and not too small

The camera is amazing! I've taken some great pictures with it so far.

The display is good, and so is the performance

8 GB internal storage is rather limiting, though I do have a 32 GB MicroSD card as well

Asphalt 8 is impossible to install on an SD card

The battery life is not enough to get me through a full day (of heavy usage). It was at 15% when I got home from school today.

*This is honestly the best $180 I've ever spent!*

Apart from the MicroSD card slot, downgrade in most aspects, imo. I don't want a larger screen at the same resolution, it just drains the battery faster.

What is that stand with all the phones sitting in it at 5:27?

As long as my old moto g still gets the update to Android L I don't see the need to get the new one

The screen on the old one is better than on the new one.

My moto g 2013 is already running 4.4.4 for a couple of months?

I had moto g 2013, and now i'm using 2014 version. I don't need to have an ultra smartphone to feel progress. Motorola G 2 gives me all I want with the very smooth feeling.

Taylor Martin, mistake: The speaker test you showed us was wrong.

Moto G 2013's back firing speaker is against a wall, which makes the sound fire forwards. So difference between the two speaker types is reduced.

Hold phones in your hand next time, like how people would use them, then we can hear the authentic sound differences.

Remember this if you compare Moto Xs.

Thanks.

Hey... how's the screen viewing angles of moto g 2014 vs the old one and other compatitive smartphones like zenfone 5 etc....

One thing I'm impressed with on the 2013 moto G is how hardy it is.

I am a clumsy oaf when it comes to smartphones and my motoG has been drop kicked across a coffee shop, dropped from chest height face down onto Tarmac, dropped on all 4 corners onto hard flooring or Tarmac...etc...

The screen has zero cracks or marks on it, the casing on the edges has some minor dings but no silver shows through the black screen surround. It truly weathers damage so well.

Seriously impressed with it, about the worst that's happened is the back cover coming free after dropping it about 15ft from a foot bridge onto the road below.

I have moto g 2013 (1st gen) and its approaching a full year. Not one problem whatsoever! However I'm thing about getting the 3rd moto g when it drops as I'm running low on space ..not to mention I haven't got my update to 5.0 yet. Still its a great phone and it only cost $79 on sale at Best Buy last yr ☺

So glad phones are starting to follow after HTC with front firing audio. Even if those speakers "are no boomsound", the fact that they are facing towards you puts them ahead of any rear facing speaker IMO

What game was that at 3:22? Nevermindd, its "Roid Rage". Had to check in his app drawer at 2:45. :D
