Storing Peonies in the Refrigerator to Use Later

I recently heard that you can store peonies in the refrigerator and they will last for up to a month. Our daughter is getting married in a few weeks and I sure would like to have some peonies for that event. Fingers crossed that this works.

I picked buds that were just starting to open. Not a hard bud but a more squishy bud. Took most of the leaves off and rolled them up in paper towel. Then I put a plastic grocery store bag around the heads and another around the stems and put them in the refrigerator. I can't wait to report what happens. @LivingLargeinASmallHouse
