This has been extended with the original sample.

Lyrics:
I'm in a trance, a beau-ti-ful trance!
Since I fell in love with you!

I can't believe I happened at all,
It seemed too good to be true!

Was it a dream, was it a dream? We were alone,
And you were in my arms last night.

Was it a dream, was it a dream? We made a vow,
Beneath the pale moonlight!

I never knew, I never thought, such bliss as this,
Could fill me with a love divine!

I'm afraid I'll wake and find, it was only in my mind.
Was it a dream or are you really mine?

I never knew, I never thought, such bliss as this,
Could fill me with a love divine!

I'm afraid I'll wake and find, it was only in my mind.
Was it a dream or are you really mine?

The lyrics... Oh god, that's why this micro-segment is called "Was it a dream?"... Kirby is such a genius on selecting the right songs.

This is about 10x more emotional than the original first moment of bliss.

_If you're typically scared of the original Stage 5, use this._

*_It seemed to be like the last moments before you truly forget everything. Your brain slowly dies, but you listen to this music one more time... before you can't remember even a word._*

The ending was a nice touch. The fade out before the picture became totally clear made it feel like you're remembering something, but not entirely.

Pretty sure the next five seconds would've devolved into pure chaos again.

For the most fleeting of moments, the synapses in the patient's brain connect and surge with electricity generated in the axons, and a memory, so close, yet so far away, successfully breaks through the all-encompassing mist.

Imagine if this part would actually have lyrics in it in the original EAEOT.
Like, there is no lyrics in any moment of album, but in this little moment of bliss, surrounded by pure chaos, there would be a piece of lyrics.

The sad part to me, is that this moment of lucidity might have been a fake memory because of the line "I'm afraid I'll wake and find, it was only in my mind." Since I've heard that Alzheimer's patients tend to create fake memories to try and fill the gaps.

the lyrics makes this thing 24 billion times sadder

It’s quite literal in this context; the patient has long since lost the ability to discern reality from imagination.

Jeez, not getting immediately plunged back into the Stage 5 madness kinda spooked me before reading that you extended the sample

I liked thumbnail
Imagine Stage 3, 4 and 6 covers with microphone

I like how it actually sounds like it's singing the lyrics.

EATEOT never ceases to surprise me. Of course Kirby would put thought into even the choice of music for this tiny, 30 second segment that doesn't even contain the lyrics of the original sample. Yet the full sample is still meaningful in context of the album. Sheesh

It's like remembering the deepest moment of being in love with someone from your past through an actual daydream. It feels so good and you try as hard as you can to maintain that profound meaningful memory, only for the picture of you and them be forgotten and be literally be shredded apart by the horrible disease. 💔

I've listened to the original segment about a million times, but it's something about how the lyrics are used here that just make me feel... Different.

"I can't believe it happened at all, it seem too good to be true, was it dream?, i'm afraid i'll wake and find, it was only in my mind, or are you really mine." Those lines fit on this stage and breaks my heart.

This, this does bring a tear to me. Not only does it depicts the tale of love, but the personal nature of not believing what happened, happened. Because that experience was just unbelievable to the person.

Lot of people say that the ending of stage 6 is the time when you remember everything before you die, but I believe this is the last fragment of remembering and at the point of stage 6 ending you just see yourself in 3rd person mode like others described their near death experiences, like my grandpa's friend once.
