This video proves how important the visual inspection is on an electrical installation condition report EICR. The results of a poor electrical connection can lead to devastating consequences.

Videos are training aids for City and Guilds (C and G) and EAL courses Level 1, 2, 3 plus AM2, AM2S and AM2E.

This is exactly why we should be taking out cookers on an EICR. If we can not, we have to write it down as a limitation on the certificate.

Sometimes these ones go cus of design fault, all the live cables come off one connection behind, so gets really hot, repaired tons of these

Hence the need to Torque to the manufacturers instructions 😊

As a PAT tester I test ALL cookers and ovens, because generally they are never tested on an EICR,

I have found bad connections on ovens and the first thing the customers say to me is "why didn't the electrician find this"

Don't be lazy, make sure to check ovens, cookers, showers, etc

It is very hard but ring crimp it’s the best for these type connection. But manufacturers should do something better these days. But still

These high amperage units have the WORST design of connection i have experienced in my 40 years of being a spark. All manufacturers should re-design this part of the oven COMPLETELY as it is clearly, NOT BRILLIANT !!

it's twisted in the wrong direction to be overtightened.
Poor connection. The poor connection creates resistance and is now the load in the circuit. It is basically a heating element.

"we won't always pull a cooker out". Then demonstrates why you should always pull a cooker out.
