Instead of the US it should be N America. Potentially even America as a whole. And if you live there as a resident, you are racing for that country. That would balance it out a little bit. Honestly, the only competition will be between the US and international, as Europe will just have a field day

What if 1 person gets a puncture and finishes > 10 mins behind the others in the race? How does that effect the next 3 people's race if it is staggered 10 minutes later?

It makes more sense for professionals whose prize money doesnt depend entirely on performance not to give everything and risk injury, to hedge their bets and ensure they collect enough money in this competition whilst making sure they are fit and injury free for races which pay big money dependent on performance. The fact that 'Professionals' themselves have devised this ' competition' which is rigged raises the question of what they think sport professionalism is. Am I excited about this - the commentator asked this question - no - a rigged race is a rigged race....cant wait for Kona though !!

You have to think that ITU athletes will be wildcard picks. If Gustav Iden is any indication, they will be awesome at a longer distance. Really fast on the swim and run at least.

The competition is very saucy in its design with three contenders per race and a draft system. However, that the race is made on a hamster wheel doesn’t convince me at all.
What’s the deal with that? I want the competition to be crossing the tallest mountain, descending the fastest river and guiding yourself through the densest forest.
Then maybe sumo.

The addition of a new presenter still trying to find his presenting feet, is making GTN viewing pretty buttock clenchlingly painful to watch. Maybe will check in again on the channel once the new guy haa completed his probation period.
