Didn't Kaveh join in the criticism about how poor England were in the early stages of the Euros? Seemed valid at the time.

Kaveh sounds like he never watched England under Southgate.

"He's created a club atmosphere" the trouble is that club is Aldershot reserves.

Can’t listen to the hypocrisy of these two, short memories that these two were criticising his tactics and poor decisions

These same guys were complaining about Southgate's tactics in the group changes when England was barely winning and was mind-numbingly boring

Wtf am I listening too
These people are the same people who agreed with the fans during the tournament 😂

What planet is Kaveh on? As a chief football correspondent surely his football knowledge should be better than this? “Lots of offers from clubs and national sides” “should have stayed”

Saying anyone who criticises Southgate CLEAR lack of tactics, changes, terribly poor selections is nonsense? 🤣🤣

Come on.

Seriously, Southgate's not entitled to any criticism ?!?! What a load of BS from a couple of apologists I've said it before, England's recent successes have been in spite of Southgate, not because of him all that generational talent going to waste.

Load of bs... the large majority of criticism have been perfectly valid

Can we stop acting like Southgate was just a volunteer giving freely of his time? He was one of the highest paid international managers. He made about £40 million over his 8 years and also got out coached and out thought in the games that matter. Spains coach earns 1/5 of what he earns and has only 2 years in the job and completely out did him tactically. We all saw how bad the team was set up all tournament and just kept scraping results over the line.

“Since when have we judged England managers on the basis of how many major trophies they’ve won?” Since always — it’s literally the one goal of a football manager. This is one of the dumbest comments I’ve ever heard.

Kaveh excited he's got something to waffle about with barely any club news he can nick off Ornstein😁👍

Yes, we are telling you that despite his 35 years in football he doesn’t know how to set up a team, substitute correctly, create a system and style of play. We have 8 years of evidence. He’s a great man, he’s done a lot for this team, but he’s not an elite coach and has had 2 huge chances to win the Euros and on both occasions the team lost due to tactical set up and style of play.

England need an attack oriented coach who brings the best out of the talented players putting them in the right position and picking them on form to create a cohesive attacking team

Let’s us all be honest, this is the best decision for both parties.

this is hilarious - Kaveh holding out to ghostwrite Gareth's upcoming book.

Now we can finally have a decent manager who doesn’t have mind numbingly boring tactics.

People keep talking stats, if you want to go down that road Sam Allardyce is the most successful England manager 100% record 🤷‍♂️

This is what we achieved after 58 years, to have young talented players and togetherNess, if Bobby Robson or Terry Venables had these players back then I promise you we would've won few trophies by now, this country invented football and we are nowhere. Something is massively wrong here !

Thank you Gareth. I’m 30. Gave me some of my highest highs and lowest lows! But we need to remember the squad Gareth took on at that time. We was Back off euro 16 Iceland loss, Sam allardyce debarcle. And we felt further away from our national team more than ever before.

You put us back together and took us to TWO finals. A semi final and quarter final. Players should also hold just as much responsibility as a manager. But onwards and upwards I categorically agree now is the time.

But Thankyou!
