Brass: Birmingham... Is It Right for You? (Pros vs. Cons)

Brass: Birmingham is "an economic strategy game sequel to Martin Wallace' 2007 masterpiece, Brass. Brass: Birmingham tells the story of competing entrepreneurs in Birmingham during the industrial revolution... As in its predecessor, you must develop, build, and establish your industries and network, in an effort to exploit low or high market demands." Each round, players take two actions out of the six possible actions: Build, Network, Develop, Sell, Loan, and Scout. Over the course of two halves, players will score victory points via established industry tiles and links (canals or rails) between those industries. There's so much to talk about regarding the gameplay but for this video I just wanted to focus on the pros and cons of this game! I hope you find it helpful!

I had a game where one of my friends ended the canal era with only 8 points (he hot screwed and failed to sell haha), and after the game, he was 5 points behind the winner - so catching up is very much possible lol

Brass is a game I definitely want to play. I watched some tutorial videos a while back and was very intrigued and set to play with friends, but then it passed by and haven't gone back to try it. This game seems to be a divisive one, you either love it or don't. There's a newer game that has some similar mechanics, but does play differently - Imperial Steam - that is one to add to my wish list. I enjoy the content Dave, great videos

This was brilliant. I never thought for a moment that this was a game for me but chugging through the Pros I got pumped, THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!
Then came the Cons. Nope, not for me. back where I started. But now I have REASONS!!!!

Fantastic video! I really enjoyed the pros and cons, and how you broke everything down so clearly. I've always wanted to try Brass, and I still do, but now I know it's only going to be for that perfect game group.

Thanks Dave!

What’s the most complex game you own/have ever played? I played Feudum a long time ago (average weight: 4.59/5) and I remember not liking it very much! 😅
