Raised beds are a great option for many gardens. They are a lot of upsides to using them, but there are some considerations as well.

One key thing to think about is the root systems of the plants you are growing. Plants can be a bit like icebergs, and their roots don't just go down a couple of inches.

Check out this pepper growing in a hydroponic setup! Its roots are WAY bigger than the branches that you see above the ground.

So if you're growing in raised beds, bigger is usually better. Your plants are going to need room to spread and will want to reach out to access nutrients & water. Make sure you give them what they need!
