That conductor is called "masterio ilayaraja" who is a legend composer in indian cinema industry, many legend singers are get famoused after working with him.

Ilaiyaraja sir the only Indian music director to compose a Symphony, there are lots of live stage programs of Ilaiyaraja are available in YouTube. Infact he recreates the same magical effect by using the same musicians played for that song. His songs are rich in strings and BASS GUITAR... A true LEGEND ❤️🥰😘

After discussing and starting again, Yesudas is looking at Ilayaraja and singing at 9:12 "naan seydha paavam ennoadu poagum" - meaning "The sins I have committed die with me" is so awesome and cute.

I had gone to one Illaiyaraja concert in which he had stopper SPB in between a song, corrected him saying “dont add anything new, just sing what you sang in original song recording”

THAT ladies and gentlemen, is Ilayaraja for u... He is the music director of the song and he's conducting his song. Though Yesudas is the original singer of the song( he's a legend himself), he messed up and came in early with the 2nd verse, and Ilayaraja would never let anybody ANYBODY ruin his song, no matter who is singing. So he stopped Yesudas and let the instrumentalists do their job but again he started singing early and he let it go this time. After the end of the performance when Yesudas asked Ilayaraja why he stopped him mid performance, he let him listen to the whole thing again, made him wait and understand the score properly and then he wrapped it up. He never lets his instrumentalists down at the cost of his singers. And that is what we call MASTERCLASS ❤️
