Pretty sure a giant warehouse where that line was stored got a heavy chemical leak that left the shoes like that and istead of taking the loss, nike just said: "F-ck it, considering the kind of people who buys shoes from us anyway, we could always rebrand those damaged products as "a new top of the line trend" and sell them for twice the price, we could even charge for the chemical"
