I have owned and used most of Nikon's Mirrorless cameras and have had the Nikon Z 6II and Z 7II as my primary cameras since their launch.

Yes, Preordered! I have a Z6II (replacing a Z6) and a Zfc (recently selling the silver and getting the black edition). I have been shooting with several Nikon bodies in the past. The last one being the D750.
I’ve got several Z glasses (selling all the old lenses), and they perform so much better on my Z6II.
I was just waiting for a better body. The Z9 for me is too big, and I was hoping for a Z6 or Z7III, but I was not expecting the Z8 to have almost exactly the same specs as the Z9. I could not resist!
I am an advanced amateur, but photography is my passion, and I can’t wait to play with my new Z8 and my spectacular Z glasses.

Currently i have D7000 and tempted for Zseries but I can't afford those.

I think you are honest about the Z cameras which you have owned . The Z9 stands alone. I just wish the Z8 was $3599.95
To get more people using Nikons again.

As a Z9 enthusiast, I think most Nikonians who have waited for a small MILC with the Z9 tech probably will not be too disappointed with the Z8.

Personally, I find a smaller body design (with & w/o grip) in general isn't ergonomic (a top priority requirement) for me to handle as the primary camera, from the experience with my FE2 vs. F2A, D300 vs. D3 and Z6 vs. Z9.🙂

I hope they come out with a full frame fc. I have the same complaints as you. The sensor is just too small.

Was a little undecided between the 8 and the 9, and decided to pre-order the 8 the day after the announcement. Super excited! Currently running a Z6II, no plans to sell because it's a beast of a camera. I also pre-ordered the MB-N12, so I might unload my MB-N11 (for what I can get for it, I might just keep it). I'm scratching my head a little over the design of the MB-N12, but I've made peace with it and my right shoulder will thank me someday 🙂

I sold my Z50 and I'm modifying the Z6ii for Astro. The Z8 is going to be my go to body and I'm hoping for a Z50ii for travel because I like light weight.

I still find myself fumbling sometimes between the Z6 and Z9 because the playback button placement is swapped. Other than that it's very similar.

for me de downsides are: worst battery, worst dissipation of heat, no improve in the AF tracking, at least to be as Canon R8 . If you put a official grip, and buy more batterys....the price will be similar of the z9 . So I don't get the point of this launch.

Ok so 4599 Euro which means 5000 USD or so. Guess that a hobbyist will think twice before getting a Z8. Personally I hope that this will reduce the D850 price.
