It's all about doing the semi permanent swap from greataxe to ornsteins spear.  All the range of a spear, and a spinning roll attack.

Tried this with the abyss r2 and swapped to BKGA. It was kinda badass, did the animation for the abyss R2, but did the uppercut R2 that sent him flying in the air instea of slamming.

Imagine a dark hand with a rapier moveswap, permanent. I don't know how and probably couldn't but still.

That requires a specific build that not everyone can use, but you're right that's not appropriate for duels. Even so, if someone casts slb on a stone greatsword I'd backstab them before they'd get the twop off. Anyway it's just a game in the end and I'd shrug it off

ok so i have tried this and it will not work. I do a dodge roll action and instantly hit R2 and i am able to get into my equipment screen before the actual attack animation happens but it wont let me swap weapons, i hit x on the boneshield to open up my weapons menu to swap but it wont let me
