Utah homeowner claims he and a neighbor shot 2 pit bulls in self-defense

A homeowner said he and a neighbor shot two pit bulls in self-defense Monday after the dogs cornered, attacked and charged at them.

I know of a child who died due to pit attack. ripped her throat out. owner went to jail. but I saw him before he went to jail .. having fun at a neighborhood party I was attending. having a great time, meanwhile little girls family was grieving. my neighbor was the paramedic who carried the little one to ambulance. she died in his arms. nothing could be done

If you own a dog, you are accountable!
The owner should be arrested and charged!!

Lives were very possibly saved because someone took action .
I live with a pitbull that is 11 and he barks at strangers on property but stops when told to .
I can't imagine just letting him run because I love him .
Trained dogs don't do this .

So tired of these stories, all due to irresponsible dog owners. Deaths, disfigurement, maulings, chaos and incredible violence. And wide- eyed owners acting clueless. The laws need to change..

Owning a pit bull or other game bred hound is like owning a gun, it’s a blessing, liability and huge responsibility, it’s not for everyone

Poor dogs. Their owners failed them, if you can't train your animals do not own animals, period. Glad nobody got mauled, sad it had to be at the cost of their lives.

Its not a stereotype, its the breed and bad owners only make it worse. Two separate attacks on our old street. One went after a blind man and his seeing eye dog and the other incidents the pit went after an older couples little dog and shook it like a rag doll killing it. Both instances the dogs owners said “he’s never done anything like that before”! They are unpredictable and deadly

I've lived 5 decades. Been around A LOT of dogs in that time including stranger's dogs and stray dog encounters. Only been bitten twice.

Both times it was a pitbull.

The owners should be charged!!! I have 2 awesome Pittys! And they ARE NOT ALLOWED BY THEMSELVES!!! AT ALL!!! They NEED A STRONG OWNER!! Should NEVER be bread willy nilly… and need to be raised with LOVE RESPECT AND GREAT SOCIALIZATION!!! AND NEVER MISTREATED!!
