Great help, Bert, thanks, sorted problem nicely after viewing dimmer switch video - my new foreign dimmer switch stated that I had to use live wire (red) to L1 and black wire (neutral?) to L2 and ignore C!

Thanks for the great clear instructions Bert, you make it look so easy. I want to do this for my living room, I have 2 separate switches either end of the room that both control the same big light. Will this make things anymore complicated? Or do I just buy 2 dimmers and the wiring will be the same for both? Many thanks!

L1 or L2 does matter .. a 1 way switch uses L1 a 2 way switch uses L2, bad advice
