I use my basket in my DIY Clawhammer / Breweasy rig. I love it for my whirlpool hops. Never felt like i was getting good contact in my hop spider. Seems to work much better in the large basket. Thanks for the video Brian. Sláinte

Blichmann makes nice gear. I decided on a BrewZilla Gen 4 220V 35L on Black Friday. Way more control than propane and heats up quickly.

Loved your video as always Brian! On the 20 amp device swap it is worth pointing out to those who may not be aware, that before one attempts to do this where an existing 15 amp receptacle is, you must make certain that you have a 20-amp breaker that feeds that circuit (obviously), but more importantly that you have 12-awg wire feeding that outlet. If it's 14-awg, this would place a 15 amp limit on the device that can be safely supported. Putting a 20 amp load on a 14-awg feeder for the duration of a kettle run can potentially be a fire hazard. It's not uncommon to see a 20 amp breaker feeding a string of 15 amp devices via 14-awg in some homes (bad practice), so it's worth mentioning for the DIY'ers who may be a bit more ambitious than informed ;) Brew safe!

Great video as always. Love the shirt - I guess I hadn't realized before that you are a Metal fan.

At my old house I was always interested in the 120v/20amp boil coil…looks like it would have been a great option. Good stuff!

Really like that basket. I’m still not convinced I’m getting good flow through my basket.

Thank you for posting this one. I was on the fence about switching from my Grainfather to the 120v version, but seems like a lateral move since the boil and time to boil is roughly the same as opposed to the 240v version which seems to be the way to go for me.

Please also make a comparison for smal footprint brewery setup. What is the smallest and simplest setup that can be used for about 2 keg batch. The cleaning must be easy.

Do you have any experience with the breweasy gas version? I already have an outdoor natural gas line setup, but cannot facilitate a 240v connection so I'm trying to decide between gas and 120v. Thanks!

Great vidoes. Top shelf. It just breaks my heart when you don't sparge... lol

Have you tried using the grain basket as a hop spider during the whole boil? I imagine being so open and large, you will get pretty good contact between the hops and wort and plenty of circulation. By the way, my 240V version arrived today. Hopefully brewing on it soon, as I'm waiting on a few other bits for my setup to arrive.

Another great video. Any idea if/when Blichmann will be selling the basket separately? I've got a different system with a BoilCoil and would love a basket instead of the bag I'm currently using.

Hi Brian,
On the 240 v breweasy compact I have a dedicated 240 gfci 20 amp breaker in my fuse box will this be enough to run the breweasy compact on 240.

Great review. The 120 volt system is great for somebody that lives in an apartment and doesn't have to hire an electrician to come in and install a dedicated outlet for their brewing system. Is there a price difference between the 2 or is it pretty much the same? Cheers!

I’d love a basket like that for my Foundry 10.5

Sorry, maybe I am easily entertained (I am) but I couldn't get past imagining you jamming out to Slipnot. More of a Korn or Prodigy fan over Slipnot but being a DJ for 5 years in a previous life and loving my alternative 80's and 90's music, the slipnot shirt just makes me smile every time you where it. I wonder if royalty fees weren't so high, what every channel would play as background music if we were allowed to use commercial music (for an affordable cost) in the background of our videos. 😂 Wait, I totally forgot this video had something do do with a grain basket...sorry just couldn't get past the Slipnot shirt but at least it made me smile. Have a great week.
