Kinda fell in love with Thiem this match. Rafa’s shots are always good and were good today also, but Dominic’s strokes were just extraordinary tonight—especially that forehand—you could just see the power in them through the screen. Rafa couldn’t battle through those phenomenal strokes(and was having a bad day with the chair umpire... did anyone see if he shook hands with her afterwards?) Really would love to see Thiem playing like this on a regular basis.

Nadal said, “I lost an opportunity to be in the semifinals of grand slam but I lost to a great opponent. He deserved it so well done to him.” Although he was not satisfied with loosing, I think Nadal is satisfied with his performance. He did what he can. And dealt with the challenge positively.

You knew from the first set, that Rafa was up against it. Struggling to counter the brutal power of Thiem. He tried all the tricks in his repertoire, including high topspin to Thiem's single hander. But to no avail.

A potential Djokovic-Thiem final would be an absolute slug-fest. Unlike Rafa though, Thiem would find it hard to counter the depth of Novak's shots.

The way Thiem played was tremendous!! Whoever he faces next round should be extremely worried. Pretty sure he will be leading the next generation.
