Bondic Review: The glue that doesn't

I've reviewed Bondic, the glue which the manufacturers claim isn't* and which certainly doesn't.

0:30 The main types of glue
2:17 Introducing Bondic

6:40 Test two: a pair of reading glasses
9:03 Conclusion

* Definition of the word "glue": A substance used for sticking things together. Source: Collins English Dictionary.

I have not been paid, bribed or otherwise coerced into recommending any products in this film, and the onions expressed are entirely my own.

My husband has Alzheimer's and wanted to use Bondic to fix a crack in our RV water tank, cuz their website says you can. He used Bondic on something last year but can't remember what it was, so we don't know if it worked. I found your review, we both got a great laugh and tossed our little silver "James Bond" box. Thanks for the light hearted start to our morning. I subscribed so we can be educated on other gadgets and also because laughter is such an important part of life😉

By far, the most honest review of this product. Merci

Thank you for NOT attaching a brick to a wall and then trying to climb on it.

This is not really a "glue", but a clear plastic filler that does not really inherently bond to anything.
I tried using it as illustrated on the package to repair a wire's insulator sheath, and basically it makes nice clear boogers that fall off of the vinyl sheathing when used.
For repairing cups, etc., the Loctite Super Glue Gel works best.

I might use it to make tiny lenses, etc., for a scale model, maybe help with clear parts, but that is about it.

This review convinces me - to resist initial response to "taking the world by storm" any world. did not mend/glue/fill/repair anything I tried it on. Sizzle but no stake (in the heart).

I bought this stuff as a new dad noticing how many toys my kids were breaking. I used it to replace a broken tooth on a plastic gear that broke from my son ripping the door open on a toy with a foot pedal that was meant to open the door. It was the perfect tool for the job and that fix has held up 3 years later, and we passed the toy on to a friend with young kids. It is not a glue, but when it is the right tool for the job, I have found no substitute.

I’m amazed at the amount of people calling this a glue. The second point directly under the directions for use heading on the leaflet that comes with the product specifically states it’s not a glue and will not act like one.

It seems to be similar to builder gel which is a resin type nail product that is thick enough to shape over a temporary nail form to create a fingernail without a plastic extension glued to your nail first. The nail can then be shaped, buffed and painted at will. This stuff is just a thick resin too, slightly more useful than builder gel in that it has a wider application however if I run out I’m pretty sure I could just use some builder gel and no one will ever know.

if you stick 2 surfaces together, isnt the UV-light unable to reach the 'glue' in the middle?

Love your review Arlo, most definitely helped me make my decision

Araldite is the boss but it needs to harden a long time and be kept in place, UV glue is great for that. It doesn't harden interior faces anyway, but it is useful to hold the outside while your araldite sets interior faces. Like a tack weld you can scrape off later if you want.

I purchased this before your review. I tried to glue many things including glasses and none of it held. The only thing I did repair was the frayed end of cloth wire. I never laughed so hard watching this. Super glue was actually good for adhering my oil filter clamp to my oil filter so I could use a ratchet to remove it.

I use a uv glue, looks the same. Get it off ebay, about $4 AU. With a bit of fibre glass great for finger nails for guitar playing.

I've used Bondic on several items with great success, Maui Jim sunglass frames, going on almost two years, reading glass frames, and oddly, the door to the refer crisper a $250.00 cost to replace. Bonic repaired for over two years.

Your review just saved me money, time and disappointment, which would obviously be the result if I proceeded with the order of the Bondic starter kit. It may not be much, but it certainly justifies subscribing, leaving the like, informing people I know about this channel and a big thank you!

Your review is also funny, and we can joke about the product specs and its actual performance, but I'm pretty sure it's no trivial matter to Bondic company. In their marketing campaign, they have been using a pretty well known fact which we were able to witness, and in some cases also be the victims of, that is, if the word science is used in the product description in any form, and/or teh product is described as the scientific achievement, it will result in much higher perceived value for most people. For me personally, after all the recent events, it sounds an alarm and makes me want to run for the hills, but I'm sure I'm still in the minority group. I'm also sure that Bondic is well aware of their product shortcomings, so selling it anyway fits the legal definition of fraud. The fact that they are still selling it without being sued is probably at least partly the result of the careful risk/benefit calculation, and various parameters of the product. The price may be many times higher in comparison to other UV glues on the market, but it's still low enough for most people to just toss the product away without even thinking about any kind of legal action. I'm also sure that their small print and instructions are loaded with different conditions (like the surface roughness mentioned in the clip), which can be argued to not have been met etc.

I would also avoid such an uncertain and money, time and nerve consuming solution, but because I really loath using such a fraudulent practices, I might register the website betterthanbondic.com, where I would claim that my product is better than the scientific wonder that bond is. And I wouldn't be lying:) And I'd only have to buy the bucket of gloop, from probably only a couple of manufacturers who are actually producing it, or even simpler, buy a custom labeled and designed product, and slap half the price of that of Bondic, which is still several times higher than the usual UV glue sold online...
