HI friends!! Captions are out for transcription and should be up soon :)

Also I'd love if you could help me name my lil Acorn girl!

I read this title so wrong I thought she was making the armour out of acorns... And for some reason that didn't sound insane to me, I was just like "ooh, period rachel"

You should really make a matching acorn cap for that outfit. Maybe a soft berret but a hard shell cap with the same effect as the pauldrons would be really awesome

Just wanted to say, in spite of being a person who's talents mostly lie in the areas that you dismiss with "ain't nobody got time for that", your videos have gotten me back into making clothes for myself after decades of "I'm too fat to put that much effort into making clothes for", and putting historical garments back into my every day wardrobe. Thank you for helping me take that step closer to thinking I may be worth putting effort into.

as a fellow acorn-collecting goblin, make sure that none of the acorns you take into your house have little holes in them! Those are from acorn weevils layin' their eggs inside. They may be cute but their babies are horrible little grubs who I did not appreciate finding in my home among my trinkets

Idk if anyone has mentioned this but the cartridge pleating WAS worth all of your hard work. Different gathers and pleats lie different, and cartridge pleats create intentional vertical gathers which helps the fabric lay right where it’s all gathered up (ie it’s less “bulky”). Random gathers that happen from using a wide stitch and just, gathering, would give you a lot more bulk of fabric at the waist and leg bands, as well as they wouldn’t poof as nicely and uniformly. It would be noticeably different lol

I love how Frodo adores you, but always has that "here she goes again" look in his eyes.

So I learned something about acorns you might find fascinating! When the trees drop them with their hats, they've actually been "infected" by an acorn weevil. So they're dropped with the hat to kind of trap them in there and keep them from coming back. Acorns you find without their hats are actually the fully developed seeds, and their hats are still on the tree.

If you haven't checked out the video game Grounded, you SHOULD! You're tiny in a backyard and use random items to make weapons and armor, including an acorn armor set!

This video was recommended to me and, I just gotta say, I LOVE your style!! I'm not sure which was more entertaining - the idea for the outfit, the (many) different techniques used to make it happen, the end result, the video techniques, or the reveal. It's nice for someone entering their 7th decade but who identifies as a 5-year-old in a Batman t-shirt to be able to live vicariously through someone with your skills. Thank you!!

Oh, a little acorn cap hat, with a bit of stem, would also be adorable!

PUMPKIN BREECHES!!!! These are the style of trouser that is vastly underrepresented, even in "elizabethan style" Shakespeare productions because so many directors and costumers are afraid that the audience will be distracted by how "silly" they look. But they are so cute!!! Thank you for bringing some autumnal whimsy (even tho it's way too hot to truly embrace fall yet)!!

I feel like Rachel just made her own OC for A Midsummer Night's Dream, and I love it.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, my immediate reaction was "Pumpkin pants!" Always entertaining to watch people make that style of breeches.

Ohhh this turned out SO CUTE, the breeches were 100% the best part! I could totally see this costume working well with a lil' cape if you don't want to go full wings!
