Nah indian music is far from simple it's exact opposite it's years of classical training of hindustani classicaly that makes his voice effortless there are many singers like that in Indian music industry.

People were clapping because they recognise the songs everytime when he switches between the songs from one to another so smoothly.

What seems like vibrato are similar to trills in Western classical world(known as 'murkee' in Hindustani classical music). That is like freely moving within the scale (improvising with the notes in correspondence with the mood).
The audience is clapping because he has created a medley of his own hit songs. They appreciate the switch between songs while staying within the same mood and smoothly switching between scales. Most of his songs are about pure love, adoration and the divinity of love between the lovers.

That's not at all is just touching several notes very fast. That's a very common technique in Indian music. The better a singer you are, you can do more and more complex and quick patterns and Indian singers love to show off their capability in this.
