Psalm 27 – Fearless || Bible in Song || Project of Love

So, we had to cancel our missiontrip to Brasil. With a heavy heart.

What happened? The short version is I experienced a total shutdown when I entered the plane. Like somebody pushed my power button and I shut down. I felt really bad in just a few seconds. I just knew one thing, I needed to get out of there.

Thanks to my wife Djen, who emerged like a true lioness, we made it to the medical post where I was declared 'not fit to fly'.

I felt ashamed and afraid.

We came home and I started to reflect on things. Meanwhile Papa showered us in scripture that hinted in 2 directions: rest in Me and nothing can seperate you from My love (Rom 8: 35-39).

Then it dawned on me: I've been blessed with two anointings (that I know of).
Writing scripture to music is one and preaching the other. Tho the latter is not as visible yet as the first one.

And it makes sense. These 2 things give me great joy and cost me little effort. Cause the Spirit is so clearly present in these things and He does most of the heavy lifting.

But, at least 70% of my work consists of things revolving around Project of Love. Answering emails, social media, doing interviews and a lot more stuff.
And that's where it becomes tricky.
God never told me to do all of these things.
He just asked me to write scripture to music.

Shortly after this I became seriously ill: Corona. As I write this the fever is still running through my body.

We started this series with my favorite Psalm 23: 'the Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows'.

Rest. Prioritize.

Back to the last Psalm of this series, Psalm 27, Fearless. Fitting end, right? ;)

BUT, you don't become fearless overnight. How many times did David cry out to God in total fear? It's a journey, we're all on our way. To deepen our relationship with the One, the source of all Love. Until fear is no longer a factor.

Dearest Xander and Djen, may the Lord bless you so much for the great commitment you have made to Him. This time too the Spirit has given us a wonderful song through you, and Psalm 27 is very dear to me.
Thank you Xander for your sincere testimony, which is precious because it shows us that the Lord's plans are not our plans, but He has everything under control for a greater purpose and has thoughts of peace and not evil for us, to give us a future and a hope.
I'm sorry that you're not well, but see it as a blessing: think of how thoughtfully the Lord made sure to stop you before you left, because it would have been much more difficult to face the illness abroad. Sometimes when we don't want to stop it is He who gives us a clear stop. Because we are His, our every action, thought, work, emotion is all His. Our time is His too, even if we all struggle against this reality. Think of brother David, who began small steps as a singer of Israel, and then dedicated himself more and more to the great projects that the Lord had in mind for him: he himself had to instruct the people in praise, encourage them and guide them in faith with example, lead them into battle to represent His Lord before the unbelieving world.
Think also of his brother Moses, who exhausted all his energy listening to a rebellious people from morning to night, until he agreed to delegate what had become too great a burden, because the Lord had an even greater plan for him! We are happy when you answer us, but we will be even happier knowing that the Lord uses you for even greater purposes. I am so happy to know that you have accepted the ministry of preaching, I felt it, the Lord bless you so much and always put His Words in your mouth for the edification of your brothers and non-believers. And remember that you have the strength of the buffalo! A special hug to sister Djen, our lioness (you are perfect together, when one is down the other lifts him up and vice versa).
