Yin yoga is a slow meditative style of yogic practice that creates space for deep inner work and relaxation. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts
Today we’ll go through 3 beginner yin yoga stretches that anyone can do:
The first position is Balasana, also known as Child’s Pose.
The second position is Kapotasana, also known as Pigeon Pose.
The third position is Utthan Pristhasana, also known as Lizard Pose.
These are my top 3 Yin Yoga positions that I enjoy the most because they are so relaxing, require minimal to no effort to hold position, and they provide a very deep and healing stretch to my tight hips and legs.
