One of the ways I’ve made similar spacers is to save scraps of the decking from the waste in, cut it to the desired length, then rip it to the desired width, then in half. A slightly wider gap will also make it less prone to clogging with debris and defeating the airflow purpose.

We found PVC white lattice moulding in 8-foot lengths (1⅛" wide x 4/25" - almost 3/16) at Home Depot. Royal Mouldings 5534. $4.88 each.

A little lost concerning the drill bit. There is mention that you can adjust the depth in order to use color matching screws. Questions on AMZN for the Starborn Pro Plug set about depth options say there are none. Only option is depth for plugs. Which two step drill bit are you using that allows for multiple depth settings? Thanks

This is exactly opposite of what the trex fascia installation guide says to do. It says the deck board should overhang and fascia should be tucked underneath. There is no mention of spacers either

Get starter deck board with out the grove and facia sits under deck board looks way better

I bought some 12" Trex PVC facia at Lowe's. I have looked high and low for the smooth plugs for this white fascia. I can find the wood grain plugs, as you show in this video, but where does one find the plugs for the smooth Trex fascia product?

I've followed this video exactly but there is a lot of curvature to the fascia board. The fascia is not flat so as to fit flush against the rim joist. I have Trex Enhance G2 Fascia (clam shell). This doesn't seem right as it is going to make coping corners very difficult.

Im hanging trex 12 inch facia with the upper picture frame overhang of 5/8th of an inch. Im hanging it off pressure treated ground contact 2x10 rim boards. I dont like the idea of the facia right up against the wood, any water that gets in just sits and doesn't flow through at all. Is it standard practice to NOT use the spacers for install with overhang? I see that is what Trex calls for but Im wondering why. I live in Montana and we do get rain and snow.

If I g-tape the tops of joists as well as the outside of the rim should I still space the fascia? (No overhang. Top of fascia flush to top of decking)

Trex literature recommends gapping all Trex, including facia boards. But at 6:43 they obviously didn't gap the joint of two facia boards. So I'm confused. Gap or no gap on facia?

Can you use a 7.25-inch wide Trex fascia board with an 8" rim joist (rather than the 11.25-inch fascia board they appear to be using here)?
