SA should open the import market for food. The big brands are taking advantage of their monopoly position.

Everybody talks about food inflation but nobody does anything about it. We have a lazy government and predatory food manufactures and retailers.

We need to invest our money on seeds and start growing our own food and having our own backyard gardens that way we won't have to rely on supermarkets for food and inflation of food won't affect us much

The big food retailers are listed companies & their ultimate goal is to keep their shareholders happy. This is critical to understand in the bigger picture.

Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it
directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel. It is not surprising that the
current market sentiment is extremely pessimistic. In today's economy, assistance is critical if we are to survive.

Problem is food prices never came down when fuel prices fell ....just keep on rising with each fuel rise.

Yes, there are factors like war and loadshedding that impact food prices, but these factors get used as smokescreen by the greedy food corporates. Or should I say, greedy individuals heading up the food corporates.

The SARB needs to stop growing the Rand currency supply immediately and raise rates as high as they can reasonably imagine 👍

It's a case of "I ok Jack" and no concern for the poor and poorest of the poor, very, very unacceptable and sad.
