Human papillomavirus infection progression in living HeLa cells
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a group of more than 200 related viruses that can infect the skin and mucous membranes and it is one of the most common viral infections worldwide.

In this footage, observe as HPV (labelled in red) infects and proliferates within HeLa cells. Nanolive’s 3D Cell Explorer-fluo microscope captures not only cellular and organelle dynamics, but also the progression of the infection over time. Cell-to-cell interactions, lipid droplets (small round bright particles), mitochondria (elongated filaments within the cytoplasm) and nuclei can be all monitored label-free.

A special thank to Prof. Wilbe Martin Kast from the Kast Lab in Los Angeles for capturing those beautiful images.

I find it quite painful how little likes and shares these shorts get compared to ‘funny cat’ or ‘Karen gets what she deserves’. So I said y Mauri, y u think that? I realise Because it is deeply scary. I’m looking at mechanisms an average human going thru average life (which we created to hurt and expose every tiny ‘granule’ to destabilising chemicals toxins radiation’s etc etc) and the fear says ah look away lest u realise how much NEEDS TO GO RIGHT just keep u walking and talking.
