This game already turned into battling full art meta decks 80% of the time. I still have fun but I kinda wish we didnt have to min/max every digital experience

i highly recommend running 1 copy of pokedex as well for any misty/ water deck. It makes it so that if you dont have a misty in your starting hand but do have a pokeball + dex you can look at the top 3. then reshuffle with pokeball to give you ( hopefully ) misty on next draw. for anyone who plays magic it's like a fetch land and brainstorm but simplified. it also makes it so that if you hold on to pokedex, and have no more basics to retrieve with pokeball, at least youre able to still get value out of it later if you by reshuffling after look at the top. making the fomerly dead card an alt way to draw misty. if you run 4 basics ( my deck does 2 staryu 2 articuno) you already have a low count on what pokeball can get so it often comes up where you have dead pokeball draws so turning it into a card that can sometimes get you a win out of thin air is very strong. misty is essentially a combo deck with a good starmie back up plan, so any way to make sure you get you get your combo piece more consistantly / faster makes a huge difference. gets even better if you have oak in starting hand because you get so much info that you should be able to make well informed enough decisons to win the game. It may sound like these situations are niche, but over the course of winning 45 games you value consistency over everything else. hope this helps :) ive already got my 45 emblem with this deck.

The other biggest weakness of Red Card, where it ends up being slightly worse than just reducing your opponent's hand size, is that generally the cards people hold are the ones they didn't need to play. You have to watch how they've been playing, and judge whether or not they likely have a dead hand (say, two sabrinas, two potions with no pokemon set up). It's still *generally good* if they at least 4 or 5 cards, because you also shuffle the dead cards back into their deck to draw again, but you have to be careful. It ends up being a pretty interesting card, but just a bit underpowered overall.

Thanks to your advice I finally started winning more matches. The whole 1+1+2 thing really changed my whole game!

I got my gold medal by using Marowak-Primeape-Hitmonlee. With the mount of people using Pikachu Ex, i got the medal with about 65% win rate. Used to put a fossil or two on the first few games but i found them a non-factor(wether up against or being used) and swapped them with the hitmonlees. Hitmonlees just provide more flexibilty, more ways of winning and winned me a lot more matches than i should have.

I'm pretty sure coin flips aren't 50/50.

I did it the hard way: not having an ideal collection to any stretch of the imagination and just playing over half a thousand matches, only grabbing wins when my opponent completely bricked on their first couple turns, allowing me to have an insanely narrow window of opportunity to MAYBE sneak a win in. Even then, it was a coin flip. But hey, many sleepless nights later, I've got my 50 wins (I know I only needed 45 but I haven't done regular PvP so I did the extra 5 wins for the dust reward gained by 50 PvP wins).

I put two Gyarados on my deck just because I still haven't got myself ex Articuno. I think I works the same and as effective as your deck though. really appreciate your video, man. helps me a lot on building my deck

ive also been thinking articuno starmie was best deck, it feels like the worst i can say about it is "misty fails half the time" but the fact they get to use misty at all is huge
