Trent looked out for Real Madrid before looking out for Liverpool. He had Real Madrid's best interests at heart not Liverpool's. my take worthless as it is: we are grieving and people deal with it differently. As a human, its natural to want to live somewhere other than where you grew up. Vacationing and business travel is not the same as living abroad. Trent im sure wanted to be captain, but also has always mentioned he loved RM as a kid too, if anything, English players from his youth are at fault for glorifying the Spanish move. Would Real want him if they had to pay full price or at the end of his prime when they are likely trying to stop having to play RB roulette?

I'm annoyed what he said in the interview earlier in the year; he seems more interested in ballon popularity contest as opposed to winning trophies and being Liverpool But if that's his goals then he's better off somewhere else.

For me he has every right to have new experiences. Slight problem I have is that apparently Madrid contacted him two years ago telling him they wanted him but on a free. So he knew for two years LFC were not going to get a transfer fee for him and dint give them the opportunity to get one. He may say he would only leave for Madrid but for two years he took his large salary knowing LFC would get nothing for him. Where as if Madrid bought him two years ago you’re talking about 80m at least. I get Madrid didn’t want to pay that but that should have showed Trent they weren’t willing to fight for him and go all in for him

He did RM a favor by making sure he would be a free transfer. Whatever talks he had with LFC the last 2 years were in bad faith, and he refuses to tell the fans what he’s doing.

He doesn’t owe the club his undying loyalty, nor does he owe the fans an explanation, but it’s be nice if he would just own it. I get how a Scousser would arrive at “lizard.”
