The reason why this is a missed symbol is after he had her executed he had all references to Anne removed and this is just one that got missed but not the only one.

I remember the audio phone tour guide thing you get, pointing this out. I love to think of Henry living there for years, thinking he'd had all references to Anne scrubbed out.

Hampton Court was originally built by Cardinal Wolsey, Wolsey fell out of favor with Henry VIII. He was pretty much forced to give it to Henry VIII. Henry enlarged it.

The great hall is amazing. I thought halls were gloomy places, but this hall is beautiful. The eavesdroppers made me laugh😊The little symbol is interesting, too.
Thank you for this great video. I hope you make more. Greetings from Spain.

I absolutely LOVED HAMPTON COURT! We were there on a perfectly sunny day, September 14 of this year. It was magnificent!

I’ve been here twice & it is one of my favorite places. Details everywhere. Those tapestries have withstood time impeccably. Amazing.

Have been lucky enough to have visited Hampton Court several times and I always look for that symbol after having read Alison Weir's book about Henry's court. The palace is an amazing place!

You see little hidden gems in loads of old buildings across the UK. I've spent a few years visiting them.

I grew up just down the road from this palace and visited it many, many times. There used to be wooden chairs with slanted backs in the Great Hall. They were designed for visitors to lean back in so they could sit comfortably and look up at the amazing structures and carvings of the roof. Incredible place.

I’ve been to Hampton Court but we were only allowed to walk around the outside and see the gardens. I would have loved to visit the inside. We did go inside the home of Sir Walter Scots home and see his exhibits of Marie Antoinette’s clock and a pair of brass bees that belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte. Very fascinating items of history. 😊

I visited Hampton Court in 1998 and walked through the Great Hall. I was mesmerized by the carved ceiling.

Imagine eating dinner while telling your family about your day and you see Lord Farquaad eavesdropping on your conversation.

What's NOT been pointed out is that Henry gave orders for all the MANY Henry & Anne carvings and signs to be removed from the palace when he finished with her. This one was the only one that got missed, hence it still being there!!!
