Gold Rush appears on the discovery channel and it follows a group of miners as they try to strike it rich in the Yukon. The show is packed for action, suspense, and drama - much like many other reality TV shows.

But how much of all that drama is dialed-up and exaggerated for narrative purposes? Some have wondered whether it's all together scripted and contrived?

Facts Verse has done our homework and has gotten to the bottom of this matter. We're going to show you just how much of Gold Rush is really just fools gold. You know what they say about how not all that glitters is really gold, right?

My wife and I both always thought Jack stole most of the gold they found. You'd see nuggets that didn't reappear after cleanup, and no one was aloud near him while he was doing the cleanup

Clearly this is a troll video, and the creator has likely never watched an episode. The Hoffman crew has been gone for what 3, or 4 years. This proves nothing. Is it drama'd up...yes
is it somewhat scripted or do they have miners re-create scenes...yes
are these guys all real miners, mining real gold..YES

Gold rush is not fake. I know personally. My niece dated Parker when he was working on his grandfather's mine. I also know Rick. He's a personal friend. He's not rich but he has plenty of money. And yes all of gold rush show members gets paid pretty well by the show.

I worked in an actual mine in Wyoming. The number of breakdowns exceed even the number a stupid miner would have. BASIC equipment maintenance means you check either daily or weekly your equipment and do preventative maintenance on time.

All of these reality shows are scripted, DUH! Drama = Viewers, I never watched this crap, nor ANY reality shows, not my bag.

ALL american TV shows are dramatized, some more, some less. Americans are used to this type of scripted shows, that's why they are keep making them. This show is (still) fun.
