KREG Pocket Hole Jig 310 - How to use it!

After a very long COVID induced break I am back with a brand new video! In this one I am going to show you how to use the KREG Pocket Hole Jig 310 (#KPHJ310).
This jig is a single pocket hole jig, ideal for anyone who is just starting woodworking projects and has no experience with pocket holes.

Have a couple of these. I immediately throw out the half of the jig with the gray adjuster slide and just measure and clamp.

I actually purchased this Jig as a recommendation for building my rolling 6x4 garage cabinets. I have yet to see or hear anyone state exactly how far from the edge of the board to place the jig in order to drill these holes properly. This is very frustrating.

When joining two different size thickness of woods together, which one do you set up your jig to?

How do you determine what length screws to use? I'm thinking I can measure how long the skinny tip of the drill bit is and add the distance of how deep I want the screw to go into the piece of wood I'm joining to? Does that sound right?
