I held both the shimano expride b 7"2 MH and the Daiwa Zillion 7"3 MH today. The Zillion felt more comfortable to hold in the hand, but the Expride is definitely lighter. Visually, the Zillion looks and feels better to me. In the end, I walked out with an Expride just for the fact that i know the Expride is a very sensitive rod. There isn't enough review on the sensitivity of the Zillion for me to get it over the Expride. I really hope I didn't make a mistake, lol. Because I really wanted that Zillion also.

My question is how this new zillion compares to the new Elite AGS? On paper, it’s hard to gauge. The Elite has AGS guides and Zillion has monocoque handle. They both have SVF Nanoplus blanks and both have air sensor reel seats.

Are the guides Alconites or SIC? Daiwa USA notates Alconites, but some peeps online stated the guides are SIC. I suppose the Fuji tag on the rod would denote the guide material.

Daiwa came for Shimano's neck with these rods. Like others have said, they look just like the exprides. Even have some of their same rod ratings. Hahaha. I want the same rod he showed in the video.

May I ask how heavy the rod is? Especially for the ZLON701MLMRB-FL / ZLON681MRB-FL ?

I just received mine in the mail from a different retailer and I’m very disappointed. This model feels very tip heavy, especially for a rod that only weights about 4.6 oz. I have rods that are equal to or heavier in weight and they feel much better in hand. Also the reel seat is very narrow. It’s thinner than shimano’s reel seats which are already on the narrow side imo.
