It was a tradition in our family to begin our Christmas baking on Thanksgiving weekend, and we played the entire stack of "Christmas Around the Fireside" LPs. I raised our daughter to bake by this beautiful celebration of Christmas music. It is a treasure.

Grew up with this & it is my absolute FAVORITE Christmas music. NEVER get tired of hearing it. I have the original albums from my parents, but about 10 years before my mom died she told me she has seen an advert in a magazine for the albums, and that were "now available on cd!" I ordered them THAT DAY! Ha. It is hard to explain how painful it can be to listen to these now that they are both gone, 🥺but also the ridiculous giddy joy I get when I also remember all the good times we shared.🤪Simple pleasures that no amount of money can buy...This is a MUST for the holiday season for me each year. It's a few days before Thanksgiving 2023, and I've this playing in the background while I'm crocheting Christmas gifts. I'm 60, and most of my family is gone or very far away and I find myself more and more missing these simpler, kinder times. Oh how I miss those Christmases of long ago when everything seemed so much more carefree, life was more simple, people were kinder and more gentle and the holidays had a magical glow. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful memories from an era gone by. The older I get the more I treasure and cherish them. Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas to one and all.

Can't beat those early 60's arrangements. They wrap up the Christmas message with class. My Dad bought a nice Montgomery Ward stereo so we could listen to records like this. Thanks, Dad.

I've heard many of these songs here and there, in piece meal throughout my life. But hearing the album in its entirety, it's beautifully arranged. So well mic'ed to capture the (most likely) 60 or more people in the room.

Growing up in Cleveland Ohio on a snowy night at Christmas time my dad played these I requested them my favorite and I still to this day I think it's the most beautiful Christmas album . The Longine symphonette. on the classical station we listen to in car. On our way to grandma's house in fort Wayne Ind. My mother had a Longinne wrist watch and I still have it. I'm 76 years old now and this music makes me feel like I'm back in my grandma's cozy bedding ...🤗 I'm wishing you all a merry Christmas 🎄🩷 it's not too early😊

12-24-22 8:30 p.m. When I think of Christmas, I always think of going home to the folk's place, where the kids would meet with their current families, and we'd discuss our past Christmases and all the changes since them. Daddy would have his music piped through all four speakers in the corner of our living room, he'd carry in a huge log for the large fireplace that would last all day, and we'd open presents in the morning. Daddy would get a call and have to go to the hospital for an emergency, but he'd be back soon, and we'd all enjoy the whole day with each other. Mother had a great dinner planned and we'd all sit around the long dining room table with the extra leaves put in it so it seated about 18 of us and then after dinner, we'd all sing Christmas songs together while one of us played the piano, another an instrument. The children would be in the play room with their new presents. Warm memories, but kind of sad since most of them are gone now. I really miss those times when things were so much easier and things seemed so simple, not complex like today.
I'm enjoying this Christmas Eve listening to this beautiful music. Thanks for posting it and Merry Christmas to all of you who might be listening too!

more so now. Hearing this
album makes me think of

Brings back priceless memories of arriving home from grade school those last few days before Christmas to find mom baking, cleaning, wrapping or otherwise preparing for the big day. Music like this would always be playing on the radio's "easy listening" stations that she'd have playing in the background as she went about her labors of love.
